​Mario Iribe ​Benitez

Mario Iribe Benitez is a native of Oaxaca, where he launched his young career with his restaurant Salon Oaxaca. He also dug deeply into mezcal spirits, ultimately creating his own brand, Insurrecto.

Mario fuses classic Mexican tastes with new twists and culinary adventures.  

La Mezcaleria SMA restaurant has been a part of San Miguel de Allende for ten years. Our innovative approach was to bring mezcal into the spotlight at a time when it was relatively unknown. 

Both our mezcales & Tequilas are 100% artisanal products and carry the La Mezcaleria SMA label.  The mezcal is brought from Ejutla, in the state of Oaxaca.

Our concept is a laid back stylish ambiant space where we serve high quality contemporary Mexican dishes and drinks.
